While giving an account in his memoir of the first revival in Rochester, New York (1830-31) Charles G. Finney introduced his readers to a minister named Abel Clary, who had served in private prayer during those meetings. Finney mentioned more about Clary in his memoir than he did about Father Nash, who became the better known of the two prayer warriors.
